2010 Colorado USSSA High Altitude NIT Tournament Rules
1. All USSSA rules will be followed unless otherwise noted (online version supersedes the handbook).
2. An approved USSSA Optic Yellow Ball will be used.
3. This is a USSSA Girls Class 12 Open and 14A, 16A Fast Pitch 4 Game Guarantee NIT tournament.
4. This is a non- protest tournament.
Any disputes will be settled by the Umpires and/or the UIC before play resumes. THEIR DECISION IS FINAL!
5. By entering this tournament, you agree to participate at your own risk and will not hold the local park, recreation department sponsoring group, or anyone else, responsible for any injury.

8. If any coach is ejected.
Rule 12 (Current game +1 game).
Note: Suspensions will carry over to the next tournament.
9. If any player is ejected.
Rule 12 (Current game) and is restricted to the bench.
10. Each team must field a legal team for every game. (Rule 5 Section 2)
11. Teams must have a completed roster & may be required to show proof of age to answer questions of eligibility.
Rule 13 Sections 4 & 5 o Guest Players must be hand written on your roster along with a release letter from their coach.
o Guest Players must meet the Age and Division requirements for that age division. § A player cannot play on a B team, but a B player can play on an A team.
12. No warm-up practice on the infield (inside the baselines) before the game.
Teams may warm up behind the temporary fences.
13. On-Deck batter will occupy circle at umpires discretion.
14. Time Limit is One Hour 15 minutes, Championship games will be One Hour and 30 Minutes.
No inning will start after time has expired. An inning begins immediately after the third out of the preceding inning.
The Umpires on the field will keep the official time.
International Tie-Breaker rule will be used after time has expired or 7 innings have been completed for all bracket games.
15. Game time is forfeit time unless a team is delayed by a late running game.
Teams that play back to back will be allowed reasonable time to change fields if necessary.
16. Team listed 1st in the pool or top of the bracket, will occupy the third base dugout, unless playing back-to-back games.
17. Run rule will be in effect for all games including the Championship game. Games will end when a team leads by:
10 runs after 3 innings
8 runs after 4 innings
6 runs after 5 innings.
18. A coin toss by the umpire before each pool/bracket game will determine the home team.
Each team will submit a complete line-up (1st and last names) to the Umpire and the opposing teams scorekeeper.
Home Team will be the official Score Keeper.
Winning team will be responsible for reporting the score.
Unreported scores will go down as a tie.

19. If a game is called before 4 innings (3 1/2 if the home team is ahead) are completed, the game will be resumed at the point of interruption. Otherwise, interrupted games will be considered a complete game at the point of interruption.
20. The top 2 teams in each bracket will have the opportunity to advance to the USSSA World Series.
21. Awards will be given to the top 2 teams in each bracket. Brackets will be divided into Gold and Silver after pool play. An MVP & CO-MVP will be selected by the coaches and/or players at the completion of the Championship game.
22. Determining the winner of each age group, will be decided by using the following priorities:
A. Win / Loss record
B. Head to Head
C. Runs Allowed
D. Average Runs scored [ Max 8 runs per game ]
E. Coin Flip
23. Prior to leaving the dugout at the completion of your game:
Each team is asked to clean up their respective dugouts.
Spectators are requested to pick up their trash in the stands.

AT NO TIME WILL PLAYERS BE ALLOWED TO WEAR JEWELRY OF ANY KIND.
v ONLY EXCEPTION IS - MEDICAL BRACELETS OR CHAINS.
AT NO TIME WILL PLAYERS BE ALLOWED TO TAPE OVER JEWELRY.
IF A PLAYER WILL NOT REMOVE HER JEWELRY, THEY WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PLAY.
PLAYERS CAUGHT BREAKING THIS RULE WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE GAME.
25. In case of inclement weather, every effort will be made to complete the tournament.
If schedule changes occur, team officials are responsible for contacting tournament officials to find out such changes. Emails will be sent out or contact Director at 970-214-9477.
Tournament officials reserve the right to change the tournament format and guaranteed number of games due to bad weather.
